The Bakery Boxes
Mina worked weekends at her aunt’s bakery, packing treats into boxes for delivery. One afternoon, a curious customer stopped by and pointed to three neatly packed boxes on the counter.
“What’s in each one?” the customer asked.
Mina smiled. “Each box has a different kind of pastry: croissants, muffins, and tarts. And they’re all packed with a certain logic.”
“Care to share it?” the customer said with a wink.
Mina nodded. “Alright. I’ll give you three clues.”
She pointed to the boxes.
- “If you take twice the number of croissants and add the number of muffins, you get 24.”
- “If you take twice the number of muffins and add the tarts, you get 33.”
- “And if you add all three together, you get 27.”
The customer scratched his head. “So three boxes, three clues, and one mystery.”
Mina grinned. “Exactly. Solve it, and I’ll give you one of each – for free.”
